Situation Analysis

Currently, the need to establish a way for employees to handle personal and family responsibilities while at work is becoming the most important factor in retaining quality employees.  A recent survey by Jobtrak.com reports 4% of college students and recent graduates listed work/life balance as what they valued most when making career decisions.

According to Met Life Study of Employee Benefit Trends, November 2001, despite a softening economy and corporate downsizing, 75% of employers named employee retention as their top benefits objective.  In addition, fifty eight percent of these employers find that developing a benefits program that helps employees balance work-life is the most important way to retain employees.

 

Market Needs

Aon Consulting's America @ Work Study investigates what organizations can do to develop and retain a high performing workforce.  Their recent study states, " Employees with critical skills are finding abundant opportunities for employment.  Many are eager to switch jobs.  As the per employee replacement cost rises above $10,000, finding and keeping the right employees is becoming vital to organizational success."  The  study goes on to say, "The leading factor in employees' commitment and loyalty to their employer is whether they believe that management recognizes the importance of their personal and family lives."  According to the study, 53% of the respondents say they feel burnout from job stress, and 30% report the same toll from personal stress.

Currently, 75% of employees take care of personal responsibilities while on the job and it takes nearly 2 hours to handle their personal needs.  Our goal is to maximize the services that can be handled while the employees are at work, but to minimize the time they spend getting it done.
